Nervous Tissue
Nervous tissue only has one type of tissue. The primary cell in the Nervous tissue is the Neuron. The Neuron is what generates and carries the nervous (electrical) signals along the nerves and allows the human body to communicate between the various locations within the systems. The neuron has three main parts; the cell body, axon and dendrite. The cell body is where most of the organelles are located. The axon is the long protrusion that comes off the cell body and carries the nervous (electrical) impulse away from the cell body. The dendrite is a shorter (typically) protrusion from the cell body that received the nervous (electrical) impuse and carries it towards the cell body. All the rest of the small cells ('dots') are called Glial cells. These are supporting cells that help the neurons.
