Exercise 1: Cardiac Cycle
Every heart beat the heart completes once full cycle. This includes the blood traveling through all four chambers (Right and Left Atria and Ventricles), the four valves (Pulmonary valve, Aortic valve, Bicuspid valve and Tricuspid valve). As the blood travels through these structures it is going in a very specific pattern. This pattern is controlled by electrical signals that are generated by the heart. These electrical signals help to identify when each step of the cardiac cycle is occuring and for how long. These electrical signals can be visualized by an ECG (Electrocardiogram).
