A Little Bit about Me:
I am lifelong resident of Western NY, currently
living in the town of Gates. Growing up
I attended Gates-Chili High School,
and earned both my Bachelors (’94) and Masters (96) in Mathematics at SUNY Brockport
I began teaching at GCC as an adjunct instructor
in the spring of 1997, and I have been a full-time member of the GCC
Mathematics Department since 1998. I also teach part-time at SUNY Brockport year-round
and occasionally at Monroe Community College.
I am married to a wonderful woman named Stephanie
(who I met in grad school) and we have two adorable daughters – Rebecca, who is
5, and Danielle, who is ½ (OK, almost 6 months at the time of this writing).
I enjoy going to movies but don’t get to go as
often as I’d like (I think I spend more time reading about them than actually
seeing them in the theatres….check out this
site!. My favorite TV shows are NUMB3RS (big surprise, huh?), Lost, Veronica Mars (why haven’t
more people heard about this really great show?), CSI, CSI:NY, and Bones.
I love to cook and spend time with my family doing typical family-fun
stuff, but the thing that most occupies my time every fall is…football. And,
yes, as you may have guessed from the color scheme and the picture above, I am
a Pittsburgh Steelers fan
through-and-through.
TOP Scholarships
In fall 2004, Genesee
Community College was awarded a $260,000 grant from the National Science
Foundation. This grant is designed to provide funds to deserving GCC students pursuing
a degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer related degree programs. I
am one of the co-principal investigators for this grant and a faculty mentor.
